About

Nick Sinagra, CEO

Nick Sinagra has been a technologist for 30 years. At five years old, he started his computer learning journey on an Apple IIc and created his first website when he was ten. Nick attended Duquesne University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006 with a B.A. degree in Multimedia Arts and an M.S. in Media Arts and Technology in 2008.

He was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a disease that affects all of the muscles in his body and causes them to get weaker over time. This is what inspired him to create Able IT Pros. With all of his accomplishments, he has proven that you can have a successful career while living with a disability. Now after his years of experience in the IT field, he wants to take on the endeavor of starting his own business while helping others in the disability community and give them the chance to show their value as employees too.

She’s passionate about our mission to deliver the best IT support in the ‘burgh (and beyond), as well as to employ disabled professionals leading the charge of excellence in the industry.

Kathryn Van Horn, Social Media Pro

Kathryn Van Horn is a Social Media Pro at Able IT Pros. She was diagnosed with a form of Congenital Muscular Dystrophy before she turned two years old. Living with a disability has always motivated her to chase excellence in her responsibilities. She spent two and a half years at the Bauer Honors College of Business to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a 4.0 major GPA. She entered the social media marketing field to explore her passion for building meaningful relationships and delivering quality services. When the opportunity to work at Able IT Pros alongside individuals who understand the challenges of living with a disability and share a drive for providing meaningful and excellent work, she knew it was the perfect fit. She is creative, organized, and reliable, but she is also fun! She loves all things arts and crafts, and in her free time, she’s often crocheting or cross-stitching new gifts for her friends and family. She’s eager to apply the same creativity to my contributions for Able IT Pros.

Melissa Young, Social Media Pro

Melissa Young is a Social Media Pro for Able IT Pros and also writes for the pop culture website, TheThings. She was born with SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) Type 2, which is a disease that weakens all of the muscles in her body and has been in a wheelchair since she was about three-years-old. Since Melissa grew up with a disability, she always knew she wanted to help change the way the world views disability and help others with disabilities not have to go through the same challenges she has. And Able IT Pros has given her the opportunity to do that.
Able IT Pros gave her the chance to start her career when no one else would and now she can use her career to help others with her writing. Every month she gets to write articles that help disabled workers and small business owners.

When she’s not writing articles, you can usually find her drawing, practicing animation, playing with her cat, Pumpkin, or writing stories that she creates.

Our Mission

“Expert IT Support for the Technologically Challenged”

Technology is critical to running any business. And when something goes wrong, your whole business could be at a standstill. At Able IT Pros, we offer expert technology services for small businesses and non-profit organizations. We offer both remote and in person services, so we can be there for you any time your technology devices suddenly stop working.

Our vision is to serve our clients as trusted allies, providing them with the loyalty of a business partner and the economics of an outside vendor. We have business relationships with multiple vendors, so we can come up with the most efficient solution for each business. Unlike larger technology companies, we can develop personal relationships with our clients and provide quality technology solutions based on each of their needs.

The majority of our team is made up of disabled, highly skilled IT professionals. Able IT Pros started with the misconception that people with disabilities can’t work or add value to a business. Our team is breaking that stereotype and proving that having a disability does not mean delivering lower quality work. We’re dedicated to helping businesses thrive by hiring a diverse pool of employees who are experts in IT.
